PROCESS DESCRIPTIONIn the pot furnace takes the melting place in separate periods, so-called harbours. The harbour is a heat-resistant container in which the glass melts with capacities of 250 –max.1000 kg of glass. The glass is melted, fined, homogenized and subsequently cooled down to the working temperature to allow forming mainly by the craftsman taking portions of glass from the glass melt pot with cyle times between 18 and 24 hours. The combustion air preheating is done via recuperator. Multiple pot solutions are used in bigger plants.
